Notice is hereby given for Consultation to the public to find out if the Beaufort West Public Libraries should be open or closed on Saturdays. 

We are appealing to the public to make their comments heard via the suggestion boxes at the library. 

Notice No. 130/2019: NOMINATION OF PERSONS TO SERVE ON THE AUDIT COMMITTEE OF THE BEAUFORT WEST MUNICIPALITY FOR THE PERIOD 1 JANUARY 2020 UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 2023 (3 Vacancies)

Beaufort West Municipality herewith invite nominations from the community in order to appoint an Audit committee from amongst the nominations to be received as stipulated in the subjoined notice.

CLOSURE OF DRIVERS LICENCE TEST CENTRE FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON FOR DRIVERS LICENCE TESTS: 06 DECEMBER 2019 – 15 JANUARY 2020

Notice is hereby given that the Drivers Licence Test Centre will be closed for drivers licence tests during the period 06 December 2019 until 15 January 2020. All other functions will continue as normal.

Notice No. 10/2020: PROPOSED NAME CHANGE OF THE AREA SIDESAVIWA

Die Plaaslike Raad vir Beaufort-Wes het formeel op 29 Mei 2018 ‘n besluit aanvaar om die dorpsgebied bekend as Sidesaviwa se naam formeel te laat verander na Kwa-Mandlenkosi deur middel van ‘n aansoek by die South African National Geographic Names Council.

Alle lede van die gemeenskap word hiermee ingelig dat verskeie vergaderings met die gemeenskap in bostaande verband deur die Raad gehou sal word. Volledige besonderhede rakende die beoogde gemeenskapsvergaderings sa mettertyd in die plaaslike pers en in die gemeenskap adverteer en versprei word.

The Beaufort West Local Council accepted a decision on 29 May 2018 to make the township known as Sidesaviwa’s name formal to Kwa-Mandlenkosi by application to the South African National Geographic Names Council. 

All members of the Community are hereby informed that various meetings with the community will be held by the Council in this regard. Full details of the proposed community meetings will be advertised and disseminated in the local press and community over time.

Notice No. 14/2020: PROPOSED NAME CHANGE OF THE AREA SIDESAVIWA

On the 17 January 2020, the Local Council for Beaufort West responded by official notification No: 10/2020 informed the community in the local press of his intention to have the name of  the village area known as Sidesaviwa formally changed to Kwa-Mandlenkosi.

Therefore, notice is given that meetings with the various role players and affected community will be held on the days and times stipulated in the subjoined notice, in order to consult with the respective role players and the community in this regard and to determine their views.

Notice No. 34/2020: PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE TARIFF POLICY BY-LAW

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 58(1) of the Rules of Order regulating the conduct of meetings of the Council read together with Section 12(3)(b) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act (Act 32/2000) that the Local Council of Beaufort West intends to accept the following by-law:-

Die Plaaslike Regering SETA het befondsing beskikbaar gemaak om opleiding aan belangstellendes aan te bied.

Aansoeke word ingewag vir die onderstaande opleidingsgeleenthede.

1. Nasionale sertifikaat: Toesig oor Nooddienste: Brand en Reddings operasies vir 5 werklose leerders. 
2. Nasionale sertifikaat: Munisipale Finansiële Bestuur vir 5 werklose leerders.
3. Nasionale sertifikaat: Omgewing vir 10 werklose leerders
4. Sertifikaat vir verdere Onderwys en Opleiding: Munisipale Finansies en Administrasie vir 5 werklose leerders 
5. Sertifikaat vir verdere Onderwys en Opleiding: Vroeëkinderontwikkeling vir 30 werklose leerders

Die kursus duur ‘n periode van 12 maande en kwalifiseer slegs werkloses van 18 tot 35 jaar vir hierdie geleentheid.

Let daarop dat daar ‘n strokie by hierdie kursusse is.

5. Further Education and Training Certificate: Early Childhood Development for 30 Unemployed Learners.  

The Course will open for a period of 12 months and Qualify only unemployed people Age 18 to 35 years for this opportunity. Please note that there is a Stipend attached to these Courses.

Local Government SETA have make funding available to provide Training to interested person(s).

Applications are awaited for the following training opportunities:

1. Grader Operator 10 Unemployed learners. 
2. Landscaping: for 10 Unemployed Learners.
3. Front end Loader: for 10 Unemployed Learners.
4. National Certificate: Environmental for 10 Unemployed Learners  [5]            Matric: for 25 Employed in Municipality and 25 Unemployed Learners. 

The duration of this Course is for a period of 3 to 6 months and Qualify only unemployed people Age 18 to 35 years for this opportunity. Please note that there is NO Stipend attached to these courses.

Notice No. 55/2020: INTERRUPTION OF SERVICES: PREPAID WATER AND ELECTRICITY SALES: WEDNESDAY, 11 MARCH 2020

Notice is hereby give that , due to essential maintenance work on the main server room, no prepaid water and electricity sales will be possible on Wednesday, 11 March 2020 from 16;30 till Thursday, 12 March 2020 at 07:00.

Members of the community are requested to purchase sufficient water and electricity in advance to allow for period of service interruption.
