Beaufort West Municipality Council has taken a resolution to close all libraries to the public to curb the spread of corona virus.
Beaufort West libraries and the surrounding areas will be closed for the public from Monday, 4 January 2021 till further notice. Members of the public can return library material and placed them in boxes that will be placed in all libraries. No issuing of library material will be conducted. No fines will be incurred for this period.

If you return library material during the above mentioned period/date your fines will be removed / waved.

Due to important electrical infrastructure upgrading in town, power interruptions are scheduled for the above mentioned dates from 08h00 to 17h00. During this period all installations should be considered as LIVE, as power may be restored at any given time. If the weather does not permit the interruption to take place, it will be postponed to a future date and notice will be given accordingly.

This is a follow up on the request that was made on 23 June 2021 on the same matter where municipal creditors were requested to submit their outstanding account statements by no later than 09 July 2021. The municipality is still faced with suppliers that claim to be owed by the municipality before 30 June 2021 relating to 2018; 2019; 2020 and 2021 financial years which the municipality has no knowledge of. This communique seeks to ensure that all the queries that the suppliers have on outstanding accounts are addressed before the close of the financial year.
