Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 19 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000 that meetings of the Local Council for Beaufort West and the Standing Committees of the Council will meet on the following dates and times during October 2017 stipulated in the sub joined notice.

Notice No. 100/2017: VOTE AGAIN FOR YOUR WARD COMMITTEE

Beaufort West Municipality is in the process to establish Ward Committees in all Wards in terms of Section 72 - 78 of the Local Government Municipal Structures Act, Act No 117 of 1998. The submission of candidate nominations will close on 17 October 2017. Notice is hereby given that Ward Committee elections are scheduled to take place in all wards on the dates as outlined here under -

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 19 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000 that meetings of the Local Council for Beaufort West and the Standing Committees of the Council will meet on the following dates and times during November 2017 stipulated in the sub joined notice.

CLOSURE OF DRIVERS LICENCE TEST CENTRE FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON FOR DRIVERS LICENCE TESTS: 07 DECEMBER 2017 – 15 JANUARY 2018

Notice is hereby given that the Drivers Licence Test Centre will be closed for drivers licence tests during the period 07 December 2017 until 15 January 2018. All other functions will continue as normal.

Notice No. 122/2017: AVAILABLE STUDY BURSARIES, INTERNSHIPS AND SHORT SKILLS PROGRAMME

The Services Sector Education and Training Authority and Construction Sector Education and Training Authority have made funding available to the Beaufort West Municipality to provide bursaries and training opportunities for interested persons.

EYE TEST DEVICE: TRAFFIC SECTION

Notice is hereby given that the eye test device to make appointments for learners and drivers licenses is currently out of order. As a result, no appointments can be made for learner -and driver’s license tests  as well as the renewal of driver license cards and PRDPs.

The public is advised to contact the Traffic Department at Tel. No. 023-414 8159 and to enquire whether the device is operational before visiting the office, especially those people from outside Beaufort West. The Traffic Department can only issue temporary driving licenses at present. The public is also encouraged to apply for a new driver license card at least one (1) month before their driving license expires.

The public is also reminded of the office hours during which the public is served. The public is only served between 08: 00-12: 00 Mondays and Fridays, and from 13: 45-15: 00 Monday to Friday.
