Description of proposal:  Application in terms of Section 15(2)(c) of the Municipal Land Use Planning By-law for Beaufort West Municipality. This application is for consideration of a temporary land use departure on erf 1226 Beaufort West known as 94 Bird Street, Beaufort West in the Registration Division Beaufort West, Western Cape in order to utilize a portion of the existing dwelling house on a temporary basis (5 years) for the purpose of a guest house.

Notice No. 111/2018: APPLICATION FOR TEMPORARY LAND USE DEPARTURE: ERF 1226: 94 BIRD STREET

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 61 of the Municipal Land Use Planning By-law Planning for Beaufort West Municipality, Notice No. 72/2015 that the Authorized Officer has approved the application for a temporary land use departure for guest rooms on erf 1226, Beaufort West in terms of Section 60 of the above-mentioned by-law.

That the application for a temporary land use departure on erf 1226, 94 Bird Street, Beaufort West, be approved in terms of Section 60 of the Beaufort West Municipality: Land Use Planning By-law, 2015, subject to the following conditions imposed in terms of Section 66 of the aforesaid by-law:-

  1. The temporary departure will be valid for a period of five years.
  2. There must be two parking spaces for the owners (it may include a garage) as well as one parking space per room rented.
  3. Parking must be accessible and not in tandem format.

The reasons for the above-mentioned decision are as follows:-

  1. That no objections were received regarding the application.
  2. It will not adversely affect the environment as it will be a small scale accommodation facility.

Any person whose rights are affected by the above decision and or conditions may appeal to the Appeal

Authority by submitting a written appeal to the Municipal Manager, Beaufort West Municipality, Private Bag 582, 112 Donkin Street, Beaufort West, 6970, so to reach the undersigned within 21 days from the date of publication of this notice.
